Core ESL Curriculum – Level 2

Course Overview

Build Confidence with Everyday English

Level 2 is where students begin turning words into meaningful sentences. Learners move beyond naming and repeating to describing, responding, and participating in short conversations using everyday English.

This level supports students as they transition from Pre-A1 toward A1 by strengthening sentence structure, introducing simple grammar patterns, and building confidence across all four language skills. Lessons are practical, engaging, and grounded in familiar, real-life topics.

  1. Level: Pre-A1 → A1
  2. Lesson Type: Interactive, ready-to-teach ESL lessons
  3. Skills Covered: Speaking, Listening, Reading, Writing, Grammar & Vocabulary
  4. Teaching Format: One-to-one or small groups (online or in person)
  5. Best Used: As a core follow-up to Level 1 or as an entry point into structured A1 learning

Benefits of the Course

What Students Gain in Level 2

  1. Confidence using full sentences – Students practice forming complete sentences instead of single-word responses.
  2. Early grammar foundations – Learners are introduced to basic grammar patterns through repetition, visuals, and sentence frames.
  3. Practical everyday vocabulary – Topics are familiar and meaningful, helping students talk about their world with ease.
  4. Improved listening comprehension – Students learn to follow short dialogues, instructions, and simple spoken texts.
  5. Emerging conversation skills – Guided questions and role-play activities support short, natural exchanges.
  6. A smooth transition toward A1 – Lessons are carefully sequenced to prepare students for more independent language use in Level 3.
